Welcome to our Quilting Resource Centre, full of hints, tips, tutorials and advice for quilting pros and newbies alike.

Quilting is a really rewarding hobby.  There is nothing nicer than the feeling you get when you give the gift of a quilt whether to friends and family, excited customers or a charity – except may be the wave of love you feel when you receive one.

What’s more quilting is officially good for your health!  A Glasgow university study found that quilting improves well-being in ways that physical and outdoor activities can not.  Improving cognitive, creative and emotional well-being, reducing stress and boosting confidence.

If you already do patchwork or quilting and are just looking for new designs, hints and tips, or if you are keen to get started with this rewarding hobby but don’t know where to start, you have come to the right place.  We will be adding regularly to this section of our blog throughout June/July 2016 so come back soon!

INTERMEDIATE QUILTING BLOCKS – COMING SOON!

The blocks in this section have been deemed EITHER harder to sew than basic blocks OR a little more time-consuming to piece together.  The difference between easy and intermediate blocks could be something as little a block having more parts to sew together than a basic block, they are achievable with little or no experience of quilting so please don’t be put off – go for it – you know you can do it!

ADVANCED QUILTING BLOCKS – COMING SOON!

These blocks require some sewing experience, they may involve sewing opposing curves, or may be made up of many small parts that need sewing precisely for great results – but they are all achievable and will give your quilts a real punch.  Consider combining with quick to piece together blocks from above, to create a balanced, but still achievable without falling out of love with quilting, quilt!
