Visit us at www.printstopolkadots.co.uk and take advantage of our ‘we are getting a facelift sale’.
Many of you will know that we have been working on a new look for our product pages, making ordering easier and allowing us to offer a wider range of cuts, including applique shapes and text! Before we roll this new template out across the store (already in place on newer fabrics) we are clearing the decks!
My son’s favorite joke: Knock knock, whose there?, Pirates go, Pirates go who? Pirates don’t go who they go arrrgh!

We asked Kerry to think about what she would use Riley Blake’s Union Jack Collection for and look what she came up with!

Thank you all for taking the time to look at our new ordering system and giving us feedback. The majority of you thought it was a positive change and could be made even better with some small changes – just the sort of feedback we were hoping for 🙂
- Being able to order different cuts is good.
- The writing on the images is on the small side.
- Some people found the small size of the packs frustrating for quilting, some really appreciated that they could by exactly what they wanted without waste.
- Some felt that a drop down list of options would be better, but the majority of people felt the images were helpful.
- Buying by the mtr would be appreciated – this option is already available but we are clearly making this hard to find!
- We need to make it clear you get all the fabrics in the bundle image.
- The new system is slower to load, people thought it was still worth it, but if we could get round this it would even better.
- Help and guidance for those curious about using the more unusual cuts would be appreciated.
What we have done
We have already made the images on each page larger, and moved the text on each option to above the image to make it easier to read, and hopefully better for those who would have preferred drop down menus.
We have set up pinboards on Pinterest (www.pinterest.com/p2pd) for the more unusual cuts, (with guides to using those cuts, links to free patterns and tutorials and inspirational images).
We are separating out ordering fat quarters from ordering yards and mtrs (currently all one option). We believe this will make ordering clearer and therefore will create less anxiety, particularly for new sewers who aren’t used to the fat quarter system.
We will make it clear in future listings how many pieces of fabric you are getting, reassuring customers that they are getting all the fabrics in the image.
We are looking at page loading speeds with our IT people.
Sincere thanks to all of you who took the time to give us feedback, we will be rolling the new system out across all fabrics in May, with the added option of ordering applique shapes in each fabric.
PRIZE DRAW WINNERS: Tala K (1st prize £10 of points), Marjorie C, Karen B, Jane H (runner ups £5 worth of points each).
UPDATE: We have now managed to integrate the instructions into the menu system, so another bug bear crossed off the list!
